A Trabant properly fuelled with gasoline and oil.
A jerry can of pre-mixed two-stroke.
Used by the Trabant 601, Ebatta, Pannonia, Barkas and Wartburg, two stroke fuel combines a vehicle's fuel and lubricant. Both are added directly to the engine.
To make it, mix 97% Gasoline and 3% Oil. The two-stroke engines will work anywhere from 3%-58% Oil, but will suffer power loss from incorrect mixtures. You can go up to 7% oil without much humanly-noticeable performance loss.
When driving a vehicle which uses two stroke fuel, it is wise to carry some oil with you at all times. If a source of pure gasoline is located oil can then be added to achieve the correct fuel ratio.
With the Trabant's 24 litre fuel tank a full 3 litre oil can is enough to mix four entire tanks of two-stroke.
More details[]
The game's code is designed for the best performance of all two-stroke engines to be when there is exactly 3% oil in the fuel, no more and no less. However, it is likely humanly impossible to mix exactly 3% of oil into a fuel tank, especially if more pure fuel is added afterwards, and as the performance impact from small amounts of oil less than 3% is much greater than that above 3% due to the much smaller margin of continued functionality, using 4% oil in the fuel is a way to ensure consistent performance rather than risking a noticeably lower performance due to accidentally only adding something like 2.8% oil rather than 3.0, which will be displayed as 3% of oil but will have a detrimental effect on performance. The 3-7% oil range is therefore the best range of performance, with barely any noticeable changes in power throughout the range.
